I am an ODU student who lives in NN and drives to ODU for classes. So far I have had no prob's with traffic, but that is b/c I leave NN around 10am and come back around 2:30. Next semester I have option of taking a 1-4pm or 6-9pm class. Which is worst for traffic?

Both. Especially around afternoon rush hour. But if you can, take 1-4, because the lunch rush isn't so bad.

I would take the 1-4 time slot. You'll be getting out just before the rush hour traffic starts up. It would be oh-so-fun (not) going through the bridge tunnel at 6.. but when you get off at 9, it won't be too bad.

Use the Monitor/Merrimac tunnel. It might seem out of the way, but believe me, you make it up in time and waiting. I live near the beach and you'd think that the HRBT would be the best way, but when the tunnels backed up, I skipped thru the M/M and 25 minutes later, I'm in my neighborhood. Relieves alot of frustration.

Personally, I wouldn't take either class. I'd look for classes closer to home that wouldn't require travelling thru a congested tunnel, or I'd find a place to live closer to ODU. But that's just me, I hated dealing with the tunnel during the 16 years I lived in Virginia Beach. I'm glad to be living in a place without the traffic congestion of Hampton Roads.

NAR...but we love it here, so we think of easier ways to get from point A to point B...it's healthy for the mind! :-)

I'm all in favor of keeping the mind healthy! One of my healthy mind exercises was to search for another place to live with less trafic.

Both are going to be problematic... the later one will be backed up coming to class, the earlier will be backed up coming home. You're probably better off with the 1-4 though since you need your arrival time to be consistent and the time you get home can be a little more flexible.

4pm thru 6:30. When I was going to Thomas Nelson for classes, I'd have to leave home by 5 to make it to class for 6:30. Coming home was a breeze at 10pm and only took me 20 minutes to get home near Weslyan.
