HI there - I'm hoping that a few of you can give me some recommendations on a good romantic restaurant to go to - price doesn't matter but .. food and service does. I'd like something that's a bit quieter and not so packed in. So if anything comes to mind .. let me know!

Thanks

Alexanders' On the Bay is nice, and a dress code too. They also have valet parking. There's a nice family owned place in Thalia as well, on the water and rustic if that is what you want. I personally like Aberdeen Barn on Northampton Blvd. They seat us near the fire place and the food is awesome. The menu has a large variety from Prime Rib to seafoods. That's my birthday place!

If you are in VB at the Oceanfront, you should try Tautog's on 23rd street. It is a beach cottage that was converted into a restaurant. It has a lot of charm and is very quaint.

Steinhilbers is the place in Thalia on a little waterway. Very nice, rustic and romantic. They don't advertise, it's all word of mouth and the food is excellent.

I second Steinhilber's (Steinhilber's (http://www.steinys.com/Index.htm - broken link)). Alexander's on the Bay (Alexanders on the Bay Fine Dining on the Chesapeake Bay) is a close second. The view at Alexander's is better, I think. I have heard excellent things about Tautog's (Tautogs Restaurant), but haven't been there yet.

Ok, I know that I am going to spell this gentleman's name wrong but, Todd Yorks (sp??) Bistro in Norfolk, off of Waterside but not like next door to the bars or anything, is fabulous! Great food, great wines, awesome dessert and very secluded and private! We love it!
