Born and raised in Brooklyn.

There is only one pizza we eat...Sunrise Pizzeria and Family Restaurant on Battlefield Blvd in the strip mall across the street from Chesapeake Regional Hospital.

Yum.

The Pizza Box in the Port Norfolk neighborhood of Portsmouth. They make their own sauce and the crust is just right. Everyone I have shown this place to has fallen in love with the Pizza.

The only complaint I've heard about this place is the owner doesn't have a problem confronting his employees in front of customers when they make mistakes. He is a New Yorker so he sounds pissed and stressed sometimes but that's how he keep the place going.
I lived in NY for 8 years. I met a lot of people like this boss. They have no manners or respect for people. Yelling at an employee is not right in any form. I walked right out of a job because the owner chewed me out in front of everyone in the place (I worked as a baker and it was 7 AM (PACKED HOUSE)). He made me look like an idiot over something that wasn't even my responsibility. It's not acceptable in any form. I played football for years, college and high school (super thick skin to do that), for a few Mike Ditka type coaches and they never upset me as much as this guy did. It's COMPLETELY unacceptable. There is no reason this guy couldn't take the employee in the back and talk to him. He needs some tact and common sense. In fact, they should package tact and common sense up and mail it to 75% of all NY residents. Coming from San Diego, it was a harsh change from the laid-back easy flow people that one encounters for most of their experiences.

Salvatore's on Baxter and Princess Anne in VB. Best I've had here so far. I doubt there are few around here that can match the quality. Check the reviews on Google; about 95% offer 5/5 stars which is quite rare.

Being from MD, I'm a snob when it comes to crab cakes and gave up finding good crab cakes outside of MD a long time ago. I've been disappointed too many times. That sounds dramatic, but it's true. LOL. I haven't tried Croakers though. I also miss ordering steamed shrimp w/ old bay. That's the best! Virginia Beach could also use a snowball stand. Yummy!

Yes, I agree that you can't find good crab cakes around here!

Wow...I can't believe nobody mentioned East Side Pizza in Portsmouth. Although I'm from here I grew up spending many summers in New York...my mother's from Harlem...and East Side is the only place I've been that's truly authentic.

I have sent many friends from NY to East Side and they agree. I have a friend from Poughkeepsie that moved back to the Beach from Portsmouth and he still drives back to P-Town when he wants pizza.
