Port Warwick is nice if you are not worried about schools. I'm not sure what schools that area is zoned for, but in general, Newport News has awful schools. Very much racial tension. Whites in my opinion have it bad in Newport News. I would look in Williamsburg,

Yes, downtown Hampton or Old Town Portsmouth...love both those areas. Both have uniquie shops and the architectural detail is fab. Walking, shopping, meeting friends, great eats, water, boats, festivals, exhibits, local art, markets...
