Visiting Virginia Beach
My husband has business in Virginia Beach this August. I'll be on my own most days. Can anyone suggest anything wonderful to see or do? (I'm more interested in nature, culture, and sightseeing than in sunbathing or shopping.) Also, where can we find delicious home cooking? How about good music and entertainment?

Colonial Willamsburg is good for sighseeing. Music? Well what kind do you like?
I'd vouch for the Norva of course if you are in your 80's that might not be your thing..
First Landing State Park is pretty BA. Here is a link to that and some others

Yes, that too! We did Croakers last night. The flounder, soft shell crab and oysters were out of this world! I confess, I did sneak a scallop off of my sweeties' plate! Oh and their desserts ARE homeade. The daughter makes a wonderful peanut butter pie!

I like the Edgar Cayce Foundation at the Oceanfront...pretty neat stuff if you like that sort of thing. Yorktown is nice too if you don't want to spend more that $15 to visit a historical site...

botanical gardens has those lil' boat rides as well. I took my M-I-L on one when she was visiting and truly enjoyed the narrated ride and the scenery.
