Help! (Norfolk, Hampton: neighborhood, movies, college)

Just wondering where is a great place to meet single, young women in the Norfolk/VB area. I'm not talking about night clubs because personally, I can't stand most clubs, but places where it's easier to interact without all of the garbage that usually comes with cheap clubs.
Thanks to any who reply, and I don't mean to "HATE" on those who like clubs, just not my thing.

If the club scene is not your thing, I would recommend joining a group that meets up in various places. You could easily join a volunteer group and find a "real keeper."

Well if I can say that, I'd suggest that. She and I both are members there and there is always something going on from dinner to movies to travel.

Other then that if that is not post-able or needs to be cut, may I suggest the gym or even now it is really nice out so perhaps the beach, walking/skating around your neighborhood.

As far as I know Meetin.org is not a competitor of City-Data... to my knowledge. I will have to ask my fellow mods about this.

LOL, much like Santa's Village and Hogwarts, a great place to meet single, young women in the Norfolk/VB area simply does not exist. In fact, a so-so place to meet single women in this area doesn't really exist either. Any place that does have single women will more than likely have 2-3 times as many guys as well so those are not really an option. And I agree, the bar and club scene leaves a lot to be desired unless you are into that.

When I was single, I used to ask the same question. The only answer I got was church. There are many chruches around here, but I don't think they are overflowing with singles. The funny thing is, if a women asked the same question, I could raddle off hundreds of places to meet single guys.

Really, I have no idea where you should meet single women in this area. The large military presence here means that the ratios are heavily in favor of women at most of the normal single hangouts. I wonder what others will suggest on this board. No one can use the church one cause that is mine . If you will only be here short-term I wouldn't bother looking, but if you are here long term then I wish you luck in your search and I mean really wish you luck . You may want to try looking online, who knows maybe there will even be someone on this message board perfect for you!

chesapeakesim is right about no distinct place to find young single females.

So right now, I'm putting my money on:

MeetIn
Church
Random festivals/events ((See the thread about "This Weekend in Hampton Roads" for some ideas))
College

Join a class or join a gym. There really isn't a "set" place to meet single women unless it's a nightclub.

That is what I meant. Kuhari and I are both Meetin Members. You are welcome to join there and its free. But aside from that, definetly there is no set place where you could meet women. I'd say though since the weather is getting warmer, maybe the beach too
