Lots of cicada noise, tons of mosquitoes ( through the day, not just in the evening) and no- see ums. Yes to lightning bugs, too. I haven't had an issue with locusts at all since we've been here. I think if I had to add locusts to the deer, rabbit, vole and squirrel problems we have, I'd give up and cement over the yard.

Definitely agree with the owls.
