Crime in Norfolk, Good/Bad Areas?
Hi,
I will be starting a new job in Norfolk on Monday and am moving tomorrow to
Chesapeake Boulevard at Piccadilly. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about this area. All I have heard are negative things. From browsing other threads, I learned that Ghent is a nicer area. Are there other good places to live? I will be working on Lowery Street and prefer to be as close as possible. Thanks!

Chesapeake Blvd toward the east end isn't that great, though there are neighborhoods off of Norview Ave that aren't bad if you want to live in Norfolk. Neighborhoods near the airport are much nicer.

Chesapeake Blvd isn't exactly crime-free. But it's not that bad. My aunt lives off of Chesapeake Blvd by Bayview and it's not that bad over there.

Yea I live in GHENT and would recommend it as one the better or maybe even best places to live if you are working in Norfolk. It is kind of pricey, but you get what you pay for.
I used to live in a place by Lowery Road, Raby Road. I would never go back to that area. I mean maybe you will fit in or blend in with "the crowd" over there better than I. That's is really what it is about. You have to find your niche.

True Bikes! You do have to find a neighborhood you fit in.
