Dislikes: Virginia Beach seems like it won't rest until the whole place is paved, there is no sense of self-preservation, they need more bike paths, and really, how many nail places do you really need in one city???
LOL...that depends! I have not seen nail salons closing, so they are obviously in demand. While VB can still build, our tax per 100 dollars is cheaper than Norfolk, who has very little if none at all land to build.

Yeah, i hear a lot of people griping about the taxes here, but relative to a lot of the rest of the country, they aren't bad here at all, either is the traffic IMO but I guess it all depends on where you are coming from. What I can't understand is that while there are soooo many houses on the market right now, where is the need to plow down another 5 or 10 or 20 acres of woods to build yet ANOTHER subdivision?? That's probably my biggest problem with this place. And yeah, there must be an awful lot of people getting their nails done out there.

Developers! Plowing down 5-20 acres of woods means people aren't selling their houses to them so they are buying uncleared land! Some of those ugly house buyers sell the houses to developers and make a lil' profit off em'.

lastonestanding will become famous soon enoughlastonestanding will become famous soon enough
LIKES

1. Close proximity to the beach
2. The new towne centre in Virginia Beach and construction of coliseum mall
3. Norfolk State University (I was a student)
4. The construction of a light-rail system. (Some disapprove, but it will make getting across town easier especially for NSU students)
5. Afr'am Fest
6. 7 cities in one Metropolitan
7. WAVY-TV 10 (great news station)
8. The Southern Hospitality (some still have it)

DISLIKES

1. No real skyline (Downtown Norfolk barely and thats it)
2. High cost of living (too high for the area, the cost outweigh the pay)
3. no pro sports teams
4. Traffic (leaving Norfolk headed to Portsmouth at 3pm until 7pm everyday is a traffic jam with no alternative routes)
5. Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel ($12 toll to drive the bridge to the eastern shores)
6. I-64 (Only two ways to get to the lower or upper peninsula)
7. The Drivers (Some of yall need to retake drivers education)
8. No real nightlife (It gets kind of boring at times)
9. Virginia Beach No cursing or cruising laws (I cant curse on the strip?)
10. The streets that end at a Military Base (Im lost and need to turn around, you dont have to point your gun at me).
