I am interested in talking with someone about the Midwifery Center (Birthing Center) at DePaul in Norfolk. I have questions about the care/services you received, costs, and comments. Thanks!

Dr. Marybeth Dixon is the OB/GYN at the women's center at DePaul. You can call there and talk with her.

I have seen Elizabeth Golpira there at the Women's Care Center. She was very nice and helpful. But they are kind of incompetent though I think. Sent my parents a bill for 618.00. All I did was get my yearly gyno mess there. And some bloodwork from the lab the next building over. $618 even after my "insurance was billed.." I will be calling them tomorrow, apparently they didn't write in my condition onset date or something and now I need to resubmit my claim!!!!

I never had a problem with them. I just changed to Sentara Healthplex group because it's near my work. Dr. Dixon is a very good doctor and billing centers, no matter which hospital you go to can mess that up.

They few pregnancy as a joy and not some medical condition that requires lots of testing! Love this place and they love your babies! Highly recommend it to anyone considering a natural childbirth!!!

Default Questions about midwives in Norfolk, VA

I am 20 wks pregnant and I just got maternity insurance. I have 2 children that I delivered vaginally without an epidural (the 2nd without an IV). I am looking for a midwife that accepts Optima Family Care insurance. DePaul is the only place I know of around here that offers a midwifery center. I don't know of any doctors/midwives that practice at DePaul. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Two of my grandchildren were born at the Midwifery in DePaul. Both experiences were wonderful for their mom and our whole family!
