Hi There,

My hubby is deployed and our mower just went.

Does anyone have a person or company they can recommend that does
lawn work. I'm just looking for basic.. mowing and edging.

I got one bid so far at $45.00 week. I was shocked it was so high.

Thanks!

At that rate, you would be cheaper going to HD or Lowe's and buying one. Look on Craigs for people selling one? Yard Sales? Kids in the Neighborhood?

Go to Home Depot and get one for 117.00. 45 a week is cheap, but I guess it would depend on how large your yard is. I say take your mower in for repair (prolly needs an overhaul) and do it yourself.

I agree. THere is a guy up around 19th street on the oceanfront that does work on lawnmowers. We've used him for tuneups and such.

You can also see if you can get another lawnmower through Freecycle.

Wow.. you think $45.00 a week for mowing is Cheap! Especially for a yard in Va Bch - I was shocked at the fee. My Mom lives in Boston and has a much bigger yard than I and only pays $25.00 week. I figured it would be about the same considering It's much more expensive to live in Ma. then here.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll just look into getting a new one.

Gas isn't cheap anymore! You figure a 2 gallon can of gas is almost 10 dollars and if they have to use a weed wacker that requires a mixed gas, add the cost of the additive. Half of that 45 is spent on the supplies. Now take 90 degree weather and add that and 45 is cheap.
