We are moving in July to the Sulffolk area. In Michigan the school year starts after Labor day and runs until end of May for some and beginning of June for others. We used to start before Labor day until they pssed a law saying the schools had to wait util after Labor Day. I think it was to keep the tourism going , like anyone could afford to drive anywhere with over 4.00 a gallon for gas. What is a regular school year for public schools

I wrote the orginial post but thanks to my 18 month old who did something to the computer I'm now someone else . Anyway thanks for posting that. My son will be in 10 th grade in the fall. He gets some sp ed. Does Virginia in general do a good job with those kids and do they do a pull out or inclusive. Last year he did Language Arts and Math the rest of his classes were the same as everyone else.

Each city is going to have different ways of dealing with Sped. My son is twice gifted, has an LD and is gifted and he has had great success in the Va. Beach school system. It is best to ask about specific cities though.
