Default Working moms

Hi Locals,
I'm trying to get a feel for the culture of the area. Say you knew 10 families with children. Out of 10, how many mothers are working full time outside of the home? (these are not single parent homes)

Being a military area, there are many moms who stay at home, especially when their husbands are out to sea for 6 mos. at a time.

Oh. I didn't consider that. I guess in those particular situations it would almost be considered a single parent home then.

I have a group of gf's here in wsmbg and I would say that out of 10 of them, 3 leave the house to work and another 3 work from home!

That seems to be the thing to do for Mom's these days, is to work from home. Our travel lady works out of her house and stops in to pick up the expense forms once a week. She has a 5 month old and it works for her.

It's easier for moms and it's cheaper for the companies because they don't have to pay for a full-time employee and they do not have to pay for benefits! I'm looking for a job that I can do from home as soon as I graduate from college in Decemeber!!!-YEAH!!!

I work and of course I know many other working moms, but it amazes me how many well educated friends I have here that do not work. I would say, whether you decide to work outside the home or not, you will find many in the same situation.

I have a friend who works from home for a DOD contractor (with a masters') out of MD. She never leaves her house and it's affecting her health. Even her dog is overweight. I am not disciplined to work from home, nor do I care to. I love getting out and meeting new people as well as the exercise.
