Just moved to Suffolk and hoping someone could recommend a good, honest mechanic in the area. Looking to get some exhaust work done and possibly brakes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've used Big Al's at the corner of 17 and College Dr. and feel that they are honest. One time I took my car in and they called and told me that there was nothing wrong with the brakes instead of just getting some easy money.

I use TreadQuarters in Churchland off of High Street and am always treated fairly. I have also heard that Blanchards (Good Year) on Western Branch Blvd - right down the street from Big Al's is good too.

My car was towed to TreadQuarters on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 pm. They rolled it into the bay and I had my quote in about 30 min - on a SUNDAY!!! It was fixed by 10:00 Mon morning.

My vote is for Big Al's.

Just make sure you don't go to Tune Up Plus. My brother worked for them years ago, very shady.

Yes, stay away from tune up plus......like to jack prices up and do work that is not needed.
