Does anyone know approximately how long it takes to hear something back after applying for a job with the city of Hampton? I applied for a position for which the announcement closed on 9/26/08 and have not heard anything. Just wondering if anyone was familiar with the process. Hampton's website states that the only information that is available on the website where you submit your application is that it was "received", but that you would not receive any other information after that, until you received an email. Thanks

It took a friend of mine about 6 months to get a reply from the City of Hampton. She ended up not getting the job because they took so long.. but still.

When I was job hunting when we moved here, it can take awhile. I wouldn't just count on that job. Some of the city jobs can take awhile to interview (some I went to wanted more than 1 interview). Good luck to you!

plus check to see if Hampton has a hiring freeze on right now...many cities do....they will continue to take applications for an open position even during a hiring freeze, but wil not fill it until the freeze is lifted...that could take months even on top of the normal long wait for a city position anyway
