Default Christmas Trees

We moved from Michigan this past summer. We live in North Carolina right on the line to Virginia. I asked already in the North Carolina area where we are. I was wondering in the Hampton Roads area is there any CHristmas Tree farms to cut your own tree down. Also being new to the area and my husband works in Virginia we are looking for Christmas activites that are inexpensive for Families

Try :Mill Farm Christmas trees -4900 Fenton Mill Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188. Phone: 757-566-2035. Email: bmapp44@aol.com. Directions: I-64 to exit 231-B. After exiting on 231-B (Croaker Road), take first right (across from 7-11) on Fenton Mill Road. Go 1 mile (east) on Fenton Mill Road to farm on your left. Open: 9 am to 5 pm, Saturday; 12 noon-5 pm, Sunday, Thanksgiving to Christmas.
Christmas tree varieties: White pine, red cedar, Leyland cypress, Norway spruce, Carolina Sapphire and Canaan fir.

Then visit Colonial Williamsburg known throughout the world for its natural Christmas décor, period music and fine dining, but few traditions may be as well known or anticipated as Grand Illumination, the signature event of the season.

Balladeers, choirs and fifes and drums will provide entertainment on four outdoor stages throughout the Historic Area: at the site of the first theater in America on Palace Green; on Market Square across from the Peyton Randolph site; on the south side of the Capitol; and at the Public Gaol, on the west lawn of the Coke-Garrett House north of Nicholson Street. The entertainment will be from 4:45 – 6:15 p.m. and following the fireworks until 7:30 p.m.

Cressets – elevated baskets of pine, or “fat wood” – are lit at dusk. At 6:15 p.m., candles are illuminated in public buildings, shops and homes throughout the Historic Area, and fireworks are set off simultaneously at three locations – the Governor’s Palace, Powder Magazine and Capitol. Following the conclusion of the fireworks, entertainment resumes on the outdoor stages until 7:30 p.m.

Grand Illumination is open to the public, and there is no charge for outdoor activities.

there is a place close to the NC / Virginia line. My brother goes there and cuts his tree's down. L et me check with him and see if it is still there and I will let you know. You can do the christmas lights at the Beach on the boardwalk. I think a car is $10 (have as many as you can squeeze in). You drive down the boardwalk and see the lights in the sand and in front of the hotels. Pretty inexpensive for a family!!

Thanks Mr. Williamsburg!! Actually it is Brights Farm. Not exactly on the line as I was thinking, but close enough for them to come to and take in the lights on the boardwalk since they are just down the street.

Wow! I'm so glad you guys posted these ... we're new to the area as well... spent four years living overseas in Japan (Okinawa) and haven't had a REAL xmas tree in FOREVER. I think the little ones will love the idea of cutting their own down! How fun! Does anyone know the approximate cost? Thanks!
