Default James City County - High water bills?

Ever since I moved to James City County I've been receiving ridiculously high water bills. My latest example is a bill that indicates my family used 116,750 gallons of water, 30,100 of which was irrigation. That means, according to HRUB, we're using on average 964 gallons of water per day for bathing, cleaning, and consumption. Impossible. Has anyone else had this problem?

APRSC is on a distinguished road
Yes, I live in The City of Hampton I,ve been receiving ridiculously high water bills. I recently recived a bill for one thousand something odd dollors. I call the water company to hear a bunch of nothing about checking for leaks. I was then advised to have my meter reread, but of course there was no change in the meter. I am seconds away from calling ten on your side.

I believe Wavy 10 did a story on this, but I think that was related to the billing problems that HRUBS had with the computer changeover, not the outrageous water bills people have been receiving. Since I've only lived in this area for a few years, and after the changeover was made, I really don't have a point of reference for what an average water bill should be, but I can tell you that I find it hard to believe that $1,200 for three months is accurate.

actually I am glad I just ran into these posts. I received a large water bill recently for about 530 dollars. This seemed strange to me but when I had people come out to check the meter everything seemed okay. Still, I live in a small apartment...530 seems like a large amount. What can be done about this?
