i have a permanent disability, so i'm on SS. can anyone tell me specific names of complexes, etc. that i might start looking into if i were to relocate?

Social Services should be able to help you with one. I believe they have case workers that help the folks on disability and fixed incomes.

A great place to start is always craigslist.org. You can even put in what you want the maximum amount of rent to be to help narrow down the search.
