Yeah, don't worry about the snow at all down here. Kuharai is right, 1/2" is considered a lot and it usually melts the next day. In fact, in the past 3 years I don't even remember us having any snow on the ground for over a few days. The last time we did get a substantial amount I don't think they even plowed our street, they just waited about a week and then it was gone . I grew up in the Northeast as well and it is nice to not have to deal with the white stuff.

The lack of "white stuff" is exactly what I'm hoping.

Four years ago, I moved from Hampton Roads to North West Michigan where our average snow fall was 250 inches a year. I owned a restaurant there and it was nothing to shovel the sidewalk 10 times a day. I'm talking at least 3 inches each time too.

I am now back home in Virginia and I am loving the weather!

The day after I left Michigan, it snowed. as of today there is 3 feet on the ground and Weatherbug has reported that another foot is expected by Wednesday morning. Now who said, "You can't go home again?"

Now who said, "You can't go home again?"
Last time I went home it was 36 deg. and 4 inches of snow. I drove from GB to where my Mom lives. OMG no thanks. My rental car was trashed with salt from the roads. I'm glad we use sand down here for the majority of slick spots.
I'm not planning any winter travel unless there's a funeral!
