Default First Accident and I really know nothing!

Okay so I have my first accident in like 7 years of driving which sucks. I have a medical condition that sucks but have been doing pretty well. My Multiple Sclerosis seemed pretty controlled lately and havent been having many issues. So any ways on to the accident I was driving home from ODU because I am having my finals and I was just getting onto 38th from Colley. I turned right and was heading straight when my vision becomes blurry and then suddenly goes completley black I then noticed as well that I had no power in my arms or legs. This was an awful feeling because I couldnt stop the car by braking or pulling over. I didnt know what to do but then I smacked into the back of a car and a few seconds later I regained movement in my arms and legs then vision. Awful feeling me and the driver decide to pull the vehicles as far to the right as possible to keep traffic going. The neighbors call the police which I was thankful for. I called my husband worried because I never have been in an accident so I didnt know what I should do. The other driver calls 911 and then hangs up. Weird huh they call him back and he reports that he was in an accident and they then tell him what has happend.
Now here is where I am curious I know I am at fault and I want his car to be fixed and my insurance's cost. He has no insurance which is why he freaked and hung up supposedly so we didnt get the police involved. Well he then rushes off before I could get anymore information from him than his first name and cell phone number from him. I only have liability which I know will pay for his damages. I dont think it will pay for mine right? Now is their anything that I can do because it was a medical thing? I know that is a hard thing but I keep having these vision and mobility issues off and on. What should I do? This is my first time having an accident and dealing with the insurance is their any way that I can get them to fix my car? Any advice would be really grateful? Plus I have an appointment to see the doctor and I am worried is their a possibility he will take my license?

Well, if I were you, I would report the accident to the police. In fact, I would never leave the scene of an accident without at least talking to an officer. The other person might've had other intentions when he fled the scene - they could be wanted for all we know. He could later try to say it was a hit and run! You said the neighbors called the police.. what happened with that?

For the accident being caused by a medical issue - that's a surefire way to lose your license. Sorry to sound harsh, but hang the keys up. I understand that you don't want to lose your license, but if since the accident was caused by a medical problem that cannot be completely controlled by medication... you are a danger to yourself and everyone else on the road. Yes, this will sound harsh, but please stay off the road if this truly is a medical issue. You're lucky that nobody is hurt. Very lucky.
As far as insurance, you have liability only. They won't fix your car. Sorry.

Holy crap!! I agree with the other poster - you should NOT BE DRIVING!!! You could kill someone!

And your insurance will not fix your car if you only have liability.

Sorry to hear about your accident. That MUST have been very scary. I agree with the other posters, you shouldn't be driving. Anything like that could happen again. Thankfully you weren't on the freeway going highway speeds and that happened! That would have been much worse!

If you only have liability, then you will have to pay for the damages to your vehicle out of pocket, as liability only covers the other person's vehicle.

First..contact your insurance company so they know if there is a claim filed against you, they already know about it and believe me, having teenage drivers a few years ago, this person can claim anything and everything if they have your info. Secondly, did the police ever show up? If this kid took off, this is very suspicious. He may have freaked for some obvious reason..i.e. drugs/alcohol.
As the other posters stated, with liability, it only covers the other vehicle and people hurt.

Everyone else has already suggested what I was going to say, but I would have to agree and stress with the other posters, that you could really hurt someone or even yourself with this disease and driving. What if instead of a car, you hit a child running across the street? These things happen and I'm not trying to be mean or talk down to you but you really should find an alternative way to get around.
