What do Hampton Roads residents do in terms of recycling? Are there local recycling plants that will take all of the basics paper, plastic, aluminum ect...?

We have the big blue units that we put our recyclables in and it's collected every other week. A recycling company takes it.

They should have them there too. VB is big on recycling, I can't tell you about the other cities though.

Like Erma, I also do the blue bin once every other week. If I have more than fits in the blue bin, you can also put it in a paper grocery bag or cardboard box and they'll load the whole thing in the back of the truck.

Some apartment complexes will have their own area for trash and recycling so the truck only has to make one stop for the whole complex. So it may be worth checking with the landlord of your complex.
