Tracy Kemmer is on a distinguished road
Default What is Suffolk like?

Hello, I am a Michigan woman with a new friend living in Suffolk and I have never been there so was wondering if some one could please tell me a little about the area? Weather, hotel and restaurant prices, maybe even gas prices?
Thank you for your help.
Hopefully will be able to take a trip in the near future.

It's a little bit country, it's a little bit rock and roll! Actually, Suffolk is sorta country, small town type place. Weather is a wee bit chilly right now from the frigid temps coming down from the midwest. Depending on when you are coming for your visit, spring would be good weather for you. March is nice here. Prices aren't expensive IMO, but compared to Michigan, they may be a little different.

Weather is lousy. Cold in the winter, hot hot hot in the summer, spring is full of pollen. Fall is decent.

Hotels, nothing really spectacular. Holiday Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Courtyard, etc.

Restaurants, again, nothing spectacular. Mostly chains.

Gas prices, I saw $1.69 today.

Overall North Suffolk is MUCH different than downtown Suffolk or out in the country Suffolk. You'd really think you're in a different world depending on which part of Suffolk you're going to be in.
