Virginia Beach Schools (Norfolk, Hampton: established neighborhood, elementary schools, moving to)

Hello! This seems like an active board, so I hope someone out there has some insight for me.

We are moving to Hampton Roads in about a year. Husband's business will be located in the Norfolk or VB industrial area. We are also committed to public schools for our 3 kids at least through elementary. These 2 factors seem to point toward VB for our residential choices.

We really want an established neighborhood (mature trees, please), a place where we can get a decent lot size (.5+ acre?), and the feel of the water nearby. In my online research, all the areas reference high schools. So far it seems that the Cox, First Colonial & Princess Anne areas are on-target for the kind of place we want to be. But what I need is to narrow down some elementary schools. What are the real gems?

I would greatly appreciate your specific suggestions. And if you think there are other HR neighborhoods I should be considering, please respond with that as well. We are taking our first scouting trip in 2 weeks and I'd like to narrow our focus for that trip.
