Any suggestions on a great college/university in the Hampton Roads area?
Hello everyone,
I am 32 years old and have been teaching Chorus for 4 years and Drama for 1 year. My family will be moving to the Hampton Roads area this summer and I am interested in finding colleges/universities that offer a Masters in Education in Drama and/or Music. My internet searches have been fruitless and disappointing so far. Can anyone recommend some colleges/universities to check out?
Thanks for your help!

That is a very narrow subject. However, Im mystified how you missed The College of William and Mary, which offers a masters in education, and is a top 40 college in the country. It is in Williamsburg, just outside of what is normally considered "Hampton Roads", but is fairly accessible, especially if you are living in Hampton or Newport News.
Old Dominion University, not as highly rated as William and Mary, is in Norfolk, and also has a masters in education.
Niether have a specific "music" specialty.

Check out Regent University in Virginia Beach.
I know they have a Masters in Education program but I'm not sure about any specific subjects.

I actually agree with Random. William and Mary is a wonderful college and is well thought of. I don't know how much their tuition has gone up, I used my GI bill for college when I got my bachelors.

I guess I missed that. I know they had some music program, when I was there back earlier in the decade, I would walk through a building on the way to Constant Hall on cold days, that always had people with instruments walking around in it, I wonder if they may have been involved in some sort of music education program.

Norfolk State has a music program. I have a friend going there now for Music Education.
