I don't think you do...but I will check with my friend. She and her husband married on the beach a couple years ago. It was a beautiful ceremony and whoever set it up did a very nice job with the decorations.

That would be great..What beach in Va? I thought some one had told me that you do need a permit to have a beach wedding, I hope not, that will mean more money. Also, do you know much about the Lesner Inn? I think its in Va Beach...Nova

My friend used a wedding planner, so maybe something was arranged. However, that was at the boardwalk oceanfront. The private beaches I would think, wouldn't require that. Do you plan on using a minister?

I had a friend who just recently got married on the beach (last summer to be exact). She didn't need a permit. But it was also just her and her husband. If you wanted a whole ceremony with all the wedding guests and chairs set up, maybe a permit will be involved.

Sidenote: One of my co-workers had her wedding at a hotel on the beach, and on my way there I passed by a few cars with people dressed in wedding attire, and they either were going or coming from a wedding. And during the wedding reception, I saw two couples out on the beach getting married. I never realized how many people get married at the beach.

Life IS a beach! The wedding we went to was only the ceremony, but beautifully done. Even the Groom had a tear in his eyes. Great guy too, she did very well finding this one.
