Default Courtyard Estates

I did a search and couldn't find anything about this community. Has anyone got any information on houses in Couryard Estates in Virginia Beach? I've seen some nice homes in this area, and have seen a few prices around the $250-$275k range.

Is this an area with low crime rate and good schools? Any information anyone has on Courtyard Estates houses would be very much appreciated.

If you are talking about Court-HOUSE Estates, yes that is a good area and I would have no reservations about recommending it.

My guess is courthouse estates also....not a bad neighborhood (very large in size) clustered in separate sub-divisions of price ranges from low 200's to high 400K....one draw back is it is a neighborhood with a POA........most houses in that neighborhood especially the ones on the lower end of the price scale are built on slabs which hurt resales a bit, but a great high school in Kellam

Yes. I meant Courthouse. My apologies. I must have been really tired when I posted this one. I will ask about if this one is built on slabs. Thank you both for your replies.

I looked up the home on the tax accessor website, and yes, it is a full slab. I need to do some research since I don't know much about 'slabs'. Any pointers for what the pros/cons of slabs are (or recommend a good website discussing that)? thanks again!

You will find tons of info both on houses built on slabs and crawl spaces when you search the net....Me personally.......you could not give me a home built on a slab.......There are many reasons I prefer a house on a crawl, here are just a few reasons why I feel a house on a crawl space is better. A house that is built on a crawl space provides more curb appeal......More curb appeal means more money at re-sale time... Secondly, the home will be more comfortable in the winter because hot air rises, and the heat is coming from the floor, not the ceiling. Plus the biggest difference for me is when wanting to make any changes or repairs to the plumbing, gas lines and electrical are easier, because the first floor is accessible from underneath. Any changes or repairs to a house on a slab requires the removal of carpet, wood or the break up of tiles just to get to the concrete which then also must be broken up to get to the gas, plumbing or electrical lines which will be time consuming and very costly

I also prefer a crawl. My condo was on a slab and in winter the floor was freezing. I always wore slippers and/or socks. Since moving into my house which has a crawl, and with the foundation vents open and having wood floors, it has not been an issue. I also personally like the look of a home w/a crawl space.
