Default VA BEach/Myrtle Beach

I was wondering how many people on here have been to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. I just recently went and thought it was really nice. I wanted to know how alot of people think it might compare to VA Beach in terms of nightlife, activites, size, overall atmosphere, etc. Is one better than other or just about equal? Please let me know

MB is better for nightlife, size and everything else you mentioned. VA Beach is waaayyy better for families (safety, etc.)

I've never been, but I do remember Myrtle Beach putting out an ad that said something like "A Better/Cheaper Alternative to Your Virginia Beach Vacation." I thought that was pretty messed up.

I'm not a fan of either beach. I like nice quiet beaches so we tend to head to Hilton Head. That said, I think that both have great qualities about them. Myrtle Beach and Va Beach both remind me of Panama City or Daytona. There is a ton to do at both but neither is my cup of tea!

I think MB is much more family oriented than VB. There are many more activities at MB, but it can be pricey with all those fun things to do.

I also like the water at MB better - the waves are much smaller and water is calmer while VB is a little more rough.
