I'm supposed to go to Murphy's down at the beach, but I've never even been in the place, much less on St. Patrick's Day. Anyone been there? Will it be packed? Any other suggestions on where to go?

Well You missed the Party in Ocean View. Parade was canceled but everyone partied on !

If you are near Williamsburg ,try the The Corner Pocket ,Poisoned Dwarf is playing Tuesday Night. One of the Peninsula's most accomplished traditional Celtic bands.

Admission is $5. The Corner Pocket is at 4805 Courthouse St.in New Town, Williamsburg. Call 220-0808.

In Newport News try :Keagan's ,music starts at 3 p.m. Tuesday with Jon Harrell, Double Take and Soul Patch. In Patrick Henry Mall on Jefferson Ave. 890-4560.

No I'm down on the southside. And I heard about the one in OV, but I just don't ever go there. Was looking more for places around Va Beach.
Thanks though!

I might try the Murphy's in DC while I'm in that area around lunchtime. I'll still try to make it back to the peninsula for the evening festivities. I haven't been to the Murphy's in VB, but I'd imagine it will be packed like all irish pubs on St. Pat's day.

Mr. W - did you say Keagan's is at the PH Mall? It's actually at Jefferson Commons near the Newport News Airport. I'll try to make it there tomorrow evening.

You are correct about location. I should slow down before post... Try Irelands Four Provinces in DC. ( now Four Fields) Used to be a great place to go !

I might go to Keagens in Va Beach Town Center. I heard a commercial on the radio saying there's supposed to be a pretty good party going on. I'm sure Murphy's at the Oceanfront will have a lot going on too. Happy St Patty's everyone!
