I set foot in the Walmart on Jefferson once...that was once too much. I'm at the store in Yorktown/Tabb all the time. MUCH nicer!

Funny...the post above that mentions the areas in Oyster Point...a good number of those were places my realtor told me to stay away from. But they probably are bus accessible compared to other developments.

There's nothing with the Wal-Mart on Jefferson, you people are so silly and picky.

the walmart on Jefferson is always crowded, the parking is hell especially since it is shared with Sams club, and not too mention the horrendous traffic throughout that corridor.

Yes, I have lived in a big city for a couple of years. For me, where I live in NN, it is more accessible to go to the walmart on 17; dont take it personally if people dont like the jefferson walmart

Big city? I don't consider NN a big city. Manhattan, yes. When you've been in nicer stores to start with and then hit that store on Jefferson, yes, it's pretty bad!

just to clarify, I would not consider NN or metro HR a "big city". We are more of a 2/3 tier metro area. Big cities are those whose metros are over 3 million plus.

Yea I definitely wasnt calling Newport News a BIG city, I just saying, there complainign about there being so much traffic and it being so crowded, I was wondering had he ever lived in a Big city because that wouldnt phase him..Newport News is 100% mid-sized urban-suburban..

We're back from NN. My wife and I took our scouting trip and we've narrowed it down to a few places. Tell me what you all think:

River Mews - HUGE! 1154 Sq ft. Townhouse. 2 BR. about $835/month

Windsor Crossing and their sister property Springhouse. Both a little smaller, and not townhouses, but we like that there is a fitness room, pool, catch and release lake...

It was our first trip there, just this past weekend and it rained pretty much the whole time. Is that normal?

Anyway. Thanks for all your help. We're making the big move down there after Memorial Day.

In Newport News you have to be careful, especially in Denbigh, because some sketchy neighboorhoods and areas dont look it, I can tell you now River Mews is one of those neighboorhoods, and the neighboorhoods surrounding it are nto so great either (Ashton Green, Cypress Terrace, Michael Irvin..my friends house was just robbed in Michael Irvin, their door was kicked in)..I wouldnt do River Mews. Dont get me wrong its not a rough neighboorhood by any means, but there are much better places in the city in better locations, probably not much more expensive. Dont know about Windsor, its not in the Warwick Lawns area is it?
