Good Family Practice Doctors in Virginia Beach?
Can anyone tell me names of good family practice doctors in Virginia Beach? I used to go to First Colonial Family Practice, but the last two years all the good doctors left there, and now half the time all they have are nurses when you come in for walk-ins, so I've decided to not go there anymore. I need a doctor who cares and does not look at me as just another number to push in and out of the office. Any advice appreciated.

I would suggest the Patient Firsts...you'll always see a doctor there.

That's where I just went yesterday- had to wait over 2 hours for them to take me, when they said there was only 3 people ahead of me.... I don't know what their deal was. I've been there before, and it only took me an hour to get in and out. They are more of an urgent care place, even though the normal family practice doctors i've been to seem to not care about their patients either, so I give up.

No, not urgent entirely. Many people are also using them as their primary care facilities. United Healthcare providers are urging their clients to go to facilities such as Patient First. I don't know how often you need to see a doctor or what insurance you have. I use Christian Medical who are a part of bayside physicians group. You can try them, but I don't know what their walk in procedures are.

I think it would be based on the type of insurance you have. Your insurance provider should have a list of doctors that are accepting new patients if you are not happy with the primary care doctor you have now. Many doctors that have a thriving family practice are very limited in accepting new patients

Dr Pavon is great, he is over off of Northhampton Blvd in a practice with a couple of other physicians, sorry I don't remember the name. Go early in the day or he'll be runing behind but he's very nice, very thorough and will never rush you. I know at least 4 people that see him.
