Places for walking
I live in Norfolk and i love to go for 2-3 mile walks. i like going to mt trashmore but as an everyday thing its really not worth going since my driving time (there and ba ck) = more time i will spend there. Any suggestions that are closer?

Hard to say I guess it depends on what part of Norfolk you live in and where you feel safe at.......There are several neighborhood/city parks that have walking tracks plus you have several high schools along with ODU that also have tracks. If you are looking more for a scenic type area I cant think of anything off of the top of my head in Norfolk that fits what you might want

Well i live about 1.5 miles away from odu. Ive never explored over there. i usually just wonder around my neighborhood or walk over to the Chrysler museum of fine arts. Not to sound strange lol but is the public allowed to walk in a track at odu? Scenery is nice but not necessary for everyday walking. I wouldnt mind walking around a track that a school has to offer. Just not sure about rules are for walking on a schools track.

Go out the door. Walk. Come back. If you go into the wrong neighborhood, run. It's amazing how much farther and faster you can go if being chased.

You should not have any problems as long as it is not during school hours or during any after school event as far as the high schools.
As far as ODU they have several tracks so again I would not think it would be a problem.....You could always check with ODU PD but I am sure they would not have a problem with it.....

lol. Im sure that is true but id rather not test that theory out. Mostly because i have a 10 month old son who would be with me. But also because i am a scaredy cat.

What about walking on the beach? Whenever I like to go for a scenic walk, I usually go to First Landing State Park or to a beach and walk around. Obviously not an everyday sort-of thing, but for a little change of pace it's nice.

Seashore State Park on Shore Drive. The beach side is the first landing campground and Seashore is on the right. Has awesome bike trails too!
