Default Can anyone recommend rental truck UNLOADERS?

We're getting ready to move to Newport News from Chicago in about 3 weeks. We're taking everything in a Uhaul and not with a moving company and I need help with unloading it once we get in. Can anyone recommend a local company I can call for unloading labor? I just need about 2 guys for about 2-3 hours to unload the big stuff from the truck and take it into the apartment. I heard that there are companies that do just this. I don't want to hire general labor (laborready.com), I want people who are used to moving furniture.

Any ideas?

Check out movinghelp.com. It is a partner organization with U-haul. You can go to the site, type in your location, dates, and number of movers needed. The site will provide you with the numbers for the closest people associated with the service, minimum hours, and rates. They also provided reviews.

Good luck

There is a company "two men and a truck". I'm not sure if they would do this, but it doesn't hurt to cal and ask.

I found Lynnthony Movers through movinghelp.com- they unloaded my truck last weekend and did a GREAT job even though I was 2 hours late because of traffic on 95.

I ended up using "A Change of Place" movers for this. They were great. 2 guys for 2 hours. About $175. They were non-stop in and out of the truck and up/down the stairs. We were just hoping they would help us with the big stuff, like the couch and dressers. But they had us moved in in two hours. I didn't have to touch anything. I think I found them using superpages.com
