We are relocating to Ches.area in August, want to rent a home, definitely in a newer subdivision, nice homes, and actually heard through other transferees to area that since developers are not able to sell the new homes, they are willing to negotiate and rent the homes instead. Definitely has to be Hickory High area, we saw Chapel hill online, and also Woodbridge Pointe in Virginia Beach was recommended to us as well, both are from the same developer, Summit Construction. Any Help??

Chapel Hill is a new development off of Mount Pleasant Road that is pretty much dried up before it really ever got started as far as building. I dont even think Summit construction has even finished their model home yet in this neighborhood, so this neighborhood only has a hand full of completed homes and most are owner occupied so I dont think you will have much luck with rentals there....The other two builder that are/were building in this neighborhood....well one bailed out before he even finished his model home so it is just sitting there half built rotting away and the other might have one or two inventory homes sitting vacant as he started building much sooner then Summit but they are on the lots that back up to the rail road tracks if I am not mistaken.....so if you consider those you better not mind the sounds of train horns at 3 in the morning

Woodbridge Point is not in the Hickory High school zone so that would not help you either.....

Your best bet would be to contact a local real estate agent and see what kind of luck you might have with some of the smaller builders that have built a home or two just on scattered lots though out the Hickory school zone and not so much a larger builder building numerous homes in a large sub division......that smaller builder might be willing to rent a home they have sitting empty.....The only problem would be how much you want to spend a month....most of the vacant new construction homes in the Hickory district that are not selling are priced from 500-700K and up
