I am relocating from NH. I rented an apartment without even seeing it due to fact that I found a job there and only had a week to get things together. Is this a good area or is it scummy. I only have a lease until december so I can put up with it for that long. What should I expect?

good area, lots of retail, near interstate and airport. Only main issue is lots of traffic and congestion

I think I may be working 3rd shift at the shipyard so hopefully traffic won't be too bad.

Be carefull driving since that particular intersection was named one of the most dangerous in the country. MANY MANY accidents there due to red light runners. Be sure not to do the rolling approach to the intersection and head through as soon as the light turns green since many cars will attempt to go through the red light in oncoming traffic. It is not uncommon for 5 or 6 cars to go through the intersection after the light has turned red!

Good location to shops, restaurants and interstate acess though. A short term lease there shouldnt be too bad. Would give you time to look around and find something you REALLY want in an apartment complex.

The apt complex at this intersection definitely caters to Hispanic immigrants, but overall this area of NN is not bad; low crime and mild congestion. Now, if you sad jefferson and Mercury- thats a different story

Nope...piece of cake from Oyster Point. Heck, if you don't care to take the interstate, you can just take Jefferson all the way down to 32nd or 50th streets. Kappa Nero's Japanese restaurant is the best too. It's right off of the intersection of Oyster Point and Jefferson Intersection.

You will be very happy in that area. My dad lives just a few blocks off Jefferson and Oyster Point and I am there often. EVERYTHING you could need or want is within a mile of you. Traffic is a mess, but that comes with lots of retail.

I don't think traffic is that bad on Jefferson actually, you just have to know what times to avoid the area.

That interchange is usually bad from 4 to 6 and anytime I64 is backed up. It can take several light rotations to get through
