That doesnt mean he cant represent you, that just means he doesnt really know what hes doing as far as traffic or criminal court.

He would probably be the best source for you, since he likely knows good traffic court lawyers on a first name basis.

Possibly - except he doesn't know anybody in the Hampton Roads area of VA (unfortunately). Luckily, I am on a number of less localized message boards and I may have found someone to represent me. (As it is a friend of a friend that I have met once before, there is also a certain comfort level there)

You do have other options.

For example, you could move to Botswana, where there are no extradition treaties.

Judging by this website, it seems like a pleasant place.

Or you could steal another person's identity. That happens all the time on television and investigators are always dumbfounded.

You could show up to court naked and really drunk and I bet the judge forgets all about the traffic infraction.

25 over the speed limit...wow! I guess you weren't paying attention
No the thing is that in Va it is a very strict state. I hate it here. With all the regulations and everything.

The officer clocked me at 80 mph in a 55.

I have a perfectly clean driving record. Obviously, I need to show up for court (there is no other option) but should I try and hire a lawyer?

Can someone recommend one that won't cost me a fortune - again, not trying to be cheap but am in the middle of a divorce and bankrupty. (Gee - this is beginning to sound like a bad country song).

Thanks.

Yeah I hear you VA state sucks in big time. They have so many regulations here. It's crazy. Well what you can do is to have your car calibrated, and then tell that to the judge. Also if you go to a Driving class. You can get your points back that were deducted from your license, you can get them back if you go to the driving class. You go there for 1 day and take the class, and then they will give you the test in the same day Then when you pass the test they will give u a certification. Then you can take the certification paper to the judge.

Good luck, and try not to drive fast in VA. It is too strict here, Can you believe that they can give you a ticket if you curse.. I was like wow! lol..

We have strict driving laws because so many people have been killed here each year. Wish no one would die, but then........
