No, I'd never support anything in this horrible metro. 5 27.78%

So it's hypothetical...big deal....any thread on this forum is in place to discuss the pro's and cons of its merit with an explanation as to why a certain poster agrees or disagrees with the OP .......The OP should expect both positive and negative replies on any subject and debate them as he/she see's fit and cityboi knows this so dont try and play it off any other way.......but when cityboi replies in such a way to the general board because some people do not agree with his statements by threatening to leave only shows me that he has no proof to debate his theory any other way. Now if you are done playing "Dad" for cityboi we can get back to the original debate about Hampton Roads and the NBA and if cityboi wishes to discuss any of the replies on his own he can......

I believe the OP did expect positive and negative replies. Positive would be, "Yes, I would support a team because..." Negative would be, "No. I would not because..." Those are the only type of answers that would be considered on-topic. The 'originial debate' you refer to doesn't have any place here since it was started by an off-topic reply. Cityboi's post clearly laid out that this forum was "not asking if you think it's possible or if you think it'll never happen. Just IF it did happen would you support the team." If you'd like to debate the reasons why HR can't ever have a team, please start another thread and feel free to debate till you're blue in the face. This whole hi-jacking of threads by nay-sayers and HR haters is old.

There's also no place for this "if you're done playing 'Dad'" rudeness.

That is your belief......fine...I believe other wise.......This is getting kind of boring if that is all you have to go on in trying to support cityboi......The funny thing is this was a debate about the NBA in Hampton Roads and you are the one trying to take it in another direction by hi-jacking the thread so maybe you should look in the mirror before calling anyone else out......I am sorry if you don't like the nay-sayers and HR haters that are on this board....But they have the same right to be here as you do......debate then as you see fit or either hit the little red X at the top right hand of your pc screen and move on.....
That is what a debate is all about.....two people disagreeing on the same subject matter.........

Hahaha, okay man. Maybe you just don't understand the concept of on-topic and off-topic debate...or hypothetical debate for that matter, but I don't know how else to explain it to you. Familiarize yourself with the fallacies of logic and argument and maybe you'll get it. "Belief" has nothing to do with it.

Haha I got a million tantalizing remarks, dude. I can go all day. The term "I believe..." was used, not to express a genuine belief I held, but as a non-essential clause for effect. The sentence could have held up by itself without it. Re-read it and pretend the term "I believe..." is gone.

You mean you actually want to get on-topic now?? Ok, would you support an NBA team if we had one here? Since I don't believe you've answered the original topic's question yet (not a real belief, mind you. I know for a fact you haven't).

Opps....sorry your wrong again......I voted in the poll you are having such a fit about....I voted NO, I would not support an NBA team in Hampton Roads......I would give you my explanation why but then that would lead us away from what you believe the OP wanted and for the last 2 hours that is all you have been debating..just a simple YES or NO answer....change of heart all of the sudden? Now do you want my explanation?.......I know what to do....From your own words-----Why don't you start another thread.......Those words sound kind of foolish now dont they....

You gotta read the posts you reply to, brotha! Here's a direct quote from me from a post YOU replied to: "He's not making a point or taking a stance or giving you anything to argue with in his original post. He just asked a question that only needed a yes/no answer with your explaination as to why."

Here's another one: "Positive would be, "Yes, I would support a team because..." Negative would be, "No. I would not because..." Those are the only type of answers that would be considered on-topic." You see, when I wrote this, I included the possibility of a yes or no answer followed by your EXPLAINATION as noted by the phrase, "I would/would not support a team because..." Now, go back and try again.
