Yeah, I always get excited and then nothing ever comes.
Like last winter on Inaugeration Day when we were supposed to get 6-8 inches and I saw one or two flakes of snow the whole day.

I think it's going to be a VERY cold winter and I think it will snow several times. Since I first moved here 13 years ago it has been getting colder and colder each winter. 13 years ago I was wearing capri shorts all through winter and didnt even own a winter coat. If the weather had remained like that I would never want to leave this area. I'm sure it's just going through a normal weather cycle though. I heard that years and years ago they used to cut ice blocks out of the James River in NN ever winter. It had to be pretty cold back then for the river to freeze up like that.

I just wait for it to happen because our forecast isn't really the way it is most of the time. Last year wasn't too bad, but it's the rain with the freezing temps that shut everything down. We are known to have 80 degrees in February, so the only thing to do is wait an see.

We haven't hit our average of 7.5 inches in over 5 years,
We're due for a big year. The weather patterns are setting up for it too. Guess we will see in two months.

Judging from the fact that its a bit colder then average for this time of year right now, and we havent gotten a good snow in years, I wouldnt doubt it.
I sure hope it does any way.

I hope not, because many people here does not know how to drive when it snows. Also they cancel everything if it snows.

When I moved back to NN in 2004, I remember that Fall and early Winter were very mild; shorts into December. The past few years it definitely feels like it is getting colder earlier. That being said that last really big snowfall was Dec 26th 2004, when NN and alot of the area got over a foot of snow.
