We have alot of cul-de-sacs in the area you are looking in, so you really don't have to worry about being on a main road. Also, there are many places off of Colonial that you may want to check out. I don't believe you'd find anything outside of the main gate, but at least your commute will be less of a drive if you are happy with the area that you choose. I work with a fella that lives near Dam Neck and has been there for quite some time. Says he has no issues with the area. It depends on what bothers you and what doesn't. Kinda like living near the boardwalk.....

Jd ... lot's of good housing for you in the Dam Neck area in zip 23454, Ocean Lakes will have the most to offer in your price range + community pools for your kids. Also Red wing, red mill estates.
