I'm planning to take my 4 year old to Hershey Park. It will be our first time there and we were planning to go the weekend after Labor Day weekend, which is 9/10 & 9/11.

Will the park be a ghostown by then since all the PA & NJ kids already go back to school?

Any input would be much appreciated.

What? You want to fight the crowds of summer, wait in line for everything, push and shove, deal with rude pushy people, melt in the sweltering heat and humidity? September sounds like a great time to see Hershey Park, go and enjoy and be glad the summer crowd is back in school!

Don't even bother with Hershey. Head 50 miles up Rt 11/15 to a FREE amusement park - Knoebels Grove (google it). I am not kidding - it is FREE admission, FREE Parking. You can easily spend 1/2 of what would have spent at Hershey. The food prices inside Hershey Park are ridiculous. The admission alone is what? $60 - $65 a person (something like that....)

Knoebels has a great pool (which should be open after Labor Day) and they have a water slides. Hotels in the area are inexpensive and Knoebels even has campsites and cabins to rent.

Why give your money to some huge corporation like Hershey Foods or Dorney Park? Knoebels is, and always has been, family owned and operated.
