Thanks for the post everyone! I really appreciate your insight. What commute time could my hubby expect from Frederick to Shippensburg? Any neighborhoods from $400k up you could recommend? What can we do the kiddos in Frederick? What should we plan to do with the kids when we visit next week? They are 5 and 10. Again, I appreciate everyone's input and support!

It takes me an hour to get to chambersburg. Woodier, spring ridge, urbana highlands, ummm I can't think. Those are some neighborhoods that are good. So many more I'm sure. Id avoid around rt 40. Not the best neighborhoods there.

Thanks for the reply and information. Just spent an entire day in various areas of PA. Re-visiting the Frederick MD option. Seems to be the ideal place to raise children. Offers all the amenities one could want as well as many activities within close range. Seems to be an educated and safe area too. Would everyone agree with my assumptions of this area?

i would agree, especially with all within close range, safe area, and educated people. also go to meetup. com and see all the ranges of groups to join. they usually have a varied amount of interests there.
