Susquehanna Township and Linglestown are both worth a look. There are many housing options meeting your criteria, and both are nice areas.

Lower Paxton Twp. and Mechanicsburg are your two best bets. Lower Paxton is more diverse than Mechanicsburg.

necro'ing this post...do the schools match up well? According to the PA Future Ready Indices, they don't. Am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Susquehanna Township school district is ranked as follows by Realtor.com:

Sara Lundemuth El School (grades K-2) = Not Rated
Thomas W. Holtzman Jr. El School (grades 3-5) = 4/10
Susquehanna Township Middle School (grades 6-8) = 6/10
Susquehanna Township High School (grades 9-12) = 5/10

This compares with East Pennsboro School District (located in Enola, PA on the West Shore). This is a well-regarded school district on the other side of the Susquehanna River.

East Pennsboro El School (grades K-4) = 6/10
East Pennsboro Area Middle School (grades 5-8) = 6/10
East Pennsboro Area Senior High School ( grades 9-12) = 5/10

So, as you can see, they are not too far off. Susquehanna Township is a good school district from everything I have heard. Hope this helps.
