Look in Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill, Hummelstown or Lower Paxton area. Stay away from the "Brook" apartments or any apartments close to the Colonial Park Mall.

I would reccomend New Cumberland. The downtown is nice and there are parks, churches, and good schools.

Hampden Township is a good area too. Carlisle Pike is crazy though. Especially the few times I've come back home for visits. Holy crap! Didn't think that road could fit any more trafic on it and somehow they did!

Oh my gosh seconded!!! STAY AWAY FROM "The Brook". People get shot there all the time. Colonial Park is...gross. Hummelstown is wicked cute! Look there.

People at the Brook do not get shot all the time and not all the Colonial Park is gross. With that in mind, I wouldn't recommend Colonial Park or the Brook. The Brook has its problems with the older apartments and the people they are bringing in with leaving trash on the ground, not picking dog feces and driving like idiots. Kids playing along the streets and there is a drug issue in parts of the complex. I have a feeling the management is just trying to get their numbers up. I do have a feeling the problems at the Brook will only get worse. New Yorkers are invading the complex.

If anyone tries to get a place at the Brook, check the apartment closely before renting, buyer beware.

Getting in the Brook can present problems at rush hour coming in from Jonestown Road.

Do yourselves a favor and do not get a place here, it has gone downhill and it will get worse. It is a shame. For example: They have kids playing in the streets at 11pm and one of them nearly got hit by a car, these kids are all over the place and you can hear them break bottles. When the office was told, nothing was done because they have to identify them despite the fact there are cameras on the facility. Basically the office manager and the staff are useless. It is disgusting, my lease cannot end fast enough. Thanks Kettler Management.
