Dear Friends,

i am coming to shippensburg, near harrisburg in this month before that ,

as my husband is already there a month ago i just wanted to know how is the cost of living in this area and what is the average salary in this area as we are almost do not have any idea, he is still adjusting there so can you please give me the details of it. and how is the job market for software people there
is there any good opportunities are available there, please inform.

The cost of living in the Harrisburg area and south central PA is below the U.S. average. Quite honestly, considering what the area has to offer (both in the area itself and in larger, nearby areas within easy driving distance), the area probably has one of the bangs for the buck of any region in the country, and I'm not just saying that because I used to live there either.

Actually CHIP I am not a huge fan of central PA in general but I will agree with you there: The proximity to real cities (DC, NY, AND AND AND Philly!!! All three!) is excellent! No more than about four hours to NY, which is the furthest, and under two to the others.
