Hilo Rentals
I am looking at moving to Hilo, but am having trouble finding anything (apartment) to rent online that includes pictures. Can anyone help me out? Is there very little to rent in Hilo?

there are a ton of places ... Hilo has a lot of places available, plus there are a bunch of nearby-towns that are easy to commute from, including some right on the water and others a bit inland.
craigslist postings frequently have pictures ... be sure to learn the names of all those close-enough-for-you towns so you know what you're looking at. Of course the classified ads in the hawaiitribune-herald (both in print and online) have lots of postings, too, but they're the traditional newspaper three liners ... so no pix there.

Chief ,
Day-Lum rentals handled our rental while our home was being built.
808-935-4152.
Many listings on Craigslist, or Day-Lum for that matter, will not rent to you until you are on island. Thus , will inform you that you will need to find temporary living arrangements.
We were able to "pull some strings" ( due to our pets relocating with us ) and sign a lease while we were still on the East Coast.
Many Many Many rentals are available. Good Luck !

Get on the island first. Until you do, nobody will take you seriously. In Hilo, rent something as soon as you can because come August when the UH Hilo kids and faculty start looking for rentals, things change. Everything rents and what's left is tiny and expensive. This is how I ended up in Kalapana Seaview fall of '03.
Clark Realty also have rentals.

vrbo.com or similar...
SEARCH vacation rentals as to the many posts on this. In this economy, it may even be cheaper (not to mention easier) to rent a vacation rental long-term.

The date on the original post is 2007, I'd guess they found someplace already?
