To my taste, Coors Banquet is the best there is. Virtually all micro-stuff, Sam Adams etc., is grossly over-hopped. What, IMHO, should be a mere "edge", is overwhelming. Bitter, and leaves gross aftertaste.
To each his own.
I refuse to drink any megaswill from the evil empires (bud, miller, coors).
Location: not sure, but there's a hell of a lot of water around here!

Aloha and okoledakine
I've been a homebrewer for 6 years. I've never brewed beer with da Pakalolo, but to each his own.
Mehana in Hilo brews some pretty good beer. Big Island Brewhaus in Waimea brews some killer beer. I have noticed that most people drink Steinlager, Heineken, and Coors light. My first choice is a good IPA on sale. Costco sells a case of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale for $24 and change which is a great deal on a solid pale ale. I look forward to the holiday season when they carry Sierra's Celebration Ale for the same price. I don't drink local beer because it is too expensive. That and imo there is nothing local in a bottle or can that is worth between $10 and $15 for a 6 pack.
