I'm South East Asian and my husband is white, our kid looks very white but we never encounter problem with the locals. In our community the 'locals' are mixed anyway, rarely Hawaiian or Samoan, most of them are Japanese and Korean decent who have been here for generations. I must say the Koreans I met here are so much friendlier than the Koreans we met in South Korea lol

I lived in South Korea for 8 years.

In my experience, I didn't really enjoy friendships with many Korean people IN Korea. Maybe just way too Korean in some ways, and felt I needed space away when in Korea.

But outside of Korea, whenever I meet Koreans, I really like their company a lot.
