I love the toads. They are all over the place where my friend lives, constantly getting run over, poor things.

Geckos are your best buddies over here. Although you do have to wonder, if one is on your ceiling, and has to, well, relieve itself over your bed at night, where does the end result wind up?
Working on a house in Wailuku Heights that bordered the cane fields, they set the cane on fire, and there was a veritable stampede of mice and cane spiders that went on for hours, as they were escaping the fire. Now the house had a great view of Haleakala and the North Shore, but to go through that every two years, I don't know?

Aloha and okolemaluna

There is only so much space on these rocks. This is something quite easy for us (rich, poor, and middle class) all to have noticed due to the high cost of housing. Many of us believe these islands to be sacred, many believe magical things happen here. Many see these islands to be holding great power. If you have just arrived here, then you should especially asess how much the island calls out to you and what it is wanting you to know and discover. If the island does not speak to you in sacred ways, then this is a clear answer that it is not for you and that should be OK by you because there are other magical places, which also may perhaps speak to you stronger. BECAUSE THERE IS ONLY SO MUCH SPACE ON A ROCK AND HUMAN CROWDS KILL THE ENVIRONMENT. The magic is rooted in the nature. So (to say it in other words), it's just not for you permanently if you could feel more connected elsewhere. Be open to this always. Where are you truly connected? We, whatever one's race, hometown, or religion, are all one. We are strongest as people when the more of us are in tune. Don't crowd others who are in tune here if you are not. You are actually helping yourself by not intruding other's sacred space. You are intruding when it is just not naturally / spiritually your place. Visit, yes. Visit to learn and share. Then leave others to their space and go to the special place that you clearly feel is yours. As people we will be stronger, individually and as a whole. If you haven't found your land, then keep on looking and always look by being in nature and by being self - aware. Is it fair to say that it is unfortunate that some of us were not born where we are most happy, while some of us were? What is unfortunate is that we are ruining our Earth. R-e-s-p-e-c-t, find out what it means. Respect yourself and others, neither should be discounted.

I think we all take some things too seriously sometimes --- me included!!! I went to the Big Island and fell immediately in love with it; BUT - I have to admit, I fall in love with most any place and anybody I meet in the world. It's my nature and I know I'm extremely lucky to be like this. I have travelled to many continents, and I always see the positive in something - it truly is a blessing. If you're wondering if I'm in La-La Land, maybe; BUT it's wonderful to be here!!! I have worked in ghettos all of my adult life and have experienced first-hand, so much violence and hate; yet I still effortlessly remain happy and hopeful. In summary: forget about your complaints - nobody but you in most cases really cares about them; that's the tough to swallow truth. BUT - guess what, when you're happy, positive, and have mostly good things to say & do - almost everybody will like you, & most important of all - HELP you when you need it. Aloha, good luck - & smile every chance you get!
