I'm a girl about to move somewhere around Honolulu or Waikiki... What would you consider bad areas? And where were you when that happened? I'm a little nervous to be moving alone.

Honolulu is a BIG CITY, much like New York City. It is not like Dallas or Houston or Miami, which are all larger but more spread out. It will have crime like ANY LARGE CITY. However, Honolulu appears to have a lessor amount of violent crimes than MOST other large cities in the US. Take that for what it is.

If you're really serious about researching crime, check out this annual report from HPD

http://www.honolulupd.org/download/H...nualReport.pdf

Go down to page 67. It breaks the island in sections then breaks those sections down even more to show how much of/what kind of crime occurred.
