Default Kailua/Kaneohe: What areas recommended?

Aloha all,

I have a client possibly relocating from the Big Island to the Kailua/Kaneohe area for work. Can those of you who live in or spend time in the area give me your insights into the neighborhoods he might want to explore? Or just share your impressions of what Kailua is like now?

(It has been a few years since my last visit. When I lived in Honolulu, I had friends who had a townhouse near Enchanted Lake, but I don't remember much about the other areas.)

He has two major requirements: 1) a fairly quiet neighborhood (no "livestock"--chickens/roosters, or lots of loud barking dogs) and 2) a home or town-home with storage.

Any thoughts appreciated,

Cynthia

aloha from kailua, o'ahu!

i don't know what happened to the neighbor's roosters. think somebody ate them. i live on a main street and sleepy kailua is that no longer. kailua town has new restaurants such as california pizza kitchen and several smaller ones. let's not forget that whole foods is coming in the very near future. also, the closer to the beach the more espensive it gets! i'm only a 1 block from the beach and most houses on my street are assessed at 1 million or more. however, it seems that those who are selling have had their houses on the market for a longer period of time. the market seems to be flattening?!

kaneohe rains more. the mall is there. more locals than kailua in my opinion.
