Default Which Island???

Aloha,

I lived in Oahu for 3 years and would like to move back to HI in the future, but I am not sure if I want to return to Oahu. I just heard it's getting more and more crowded....GGGRRRR!!!!!!!! I'm thinking of either Maui or The Big Island. Is UH the only Universities on these islands? I wish HPU wasn't just located on Oahu...I may not have a choice but to go back. I can't make up my mind on which island I want to live on. HELP! Tips, advice, opinions? I have a retirement/separation check coming in monthly that will help with rent...so I am not too worried about that...but it is so hard to find a place. Any help for this lost wahine?

Hi Mily,

It sounds like the Big Island might be a good place to explore, considering the numbers. It is the least crowded and most affordable.

The UH campus in Hilo is quite nice and plenty money has been released recently for continued additions and improvements. The community college campus, HCC, is an option as well.

With aloha,

Cynthia

Mahalo, Cynthia. I'll do some research on Hilo...it looks quite nice, and I have seen pictures of the UH Campus. I don't think I would mind going to school there. Are there any other good sites to find a good apartment or house to rent in Hilo? I don't want to buy just yet.

I'm still fairly young (29)...Would The Big Island/Hilo be ideal for me? I just don't miss the crowdedness of Oahu!!! ...But I still want to have lots of fun things to do and be around some diversity.

Then don't go to the Big Island. Unless you like to drink everynight.

If your a country person like me, fishing, hiking, hunting, crusing, diving, then the Big Island is a fun place.

If you like city life, Oahu is the place to be. Hilo is fun to visit, but one town can get small really fast since the rest of the island closes down pretty early.

^Great! I might be going back to Oahu then. What do you know about Maui? Is it similiar to Oahu? A little less crowded maybe? HAH!
